The Need for Clean Water
Step 1 is to DECIDE to take action

If not now, when?

The facts
The Benefits of Clean Water in Developing Countries
We use water for so many things each day and we don’t give it a second thought. We are so lucky that we literally have all the clean water we want on tap.

Yet that’s not the case for everyone in the world. Did you know that in 2020, around 1 in 4 people did not have drinking water in their homes?

Access to clean water in developing countries
More than 785 million people live without clean water. To put that into perspective, that’s 31 times the population of Australia having to collect water that makes them sick.

Women & children collect water each day
The reality is that in most of the communities without water, it is the women and children who do most of the work collecting the water. Travelling up to three or more hours, every day, carrying heavy containers filled with water that is filthy and riddled with disease.
Children benefit from clean water
Sadly, more than 5,000 children, under the age of 5 die each week from diarrhoea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and unsafe hygiene practices; causes we could treat, or better still, prevent.

Your call to action
The good news is that there are people like you and us who can make a difference. Constructing a clean water source for a community, where the average person earns around $2 per day, will have a major impact.
Imagine if you could raise the funds for even one project that changed the lives of say 1,000 people in a small community. What would that mean to all those people?
You can decide now to have an impact on 1,000 people
Clean water prevents needless deaths. It provides women with time to produce income and improve their lifestyles; it gives children more time at school, giving them a chance of a brighter future; it reduces the medical burden and improves health. It improves the lives of a whole community.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could be the one creating that light at the end of the tunnel for those 1,000 people?
That would be an accomplishment to be proud of.
