Wellwishers Trust work in villages in the northern province of Tigray, Ethiopia, to construct hand dug wells.
They team up with the Relief Society of Tigray (REST), a local non-government body, who work in close proximity to the villages. REST establishes village water committees for future administration and maintenance; they carry out training in health and sanitation, to promote better practices; and they provide the physical resources for the supply of clean water.
